The Brood obviously reminds you, at times,  of "Don't Look Now", with the midget mutant kids dressed in red (pretty obvious, like a shout out/homage) and one of the murders is done in a bedroom a lot like in "Pet Sematary" who obviously were fans of this movie a decade later.
